Axon Business Systems Conducts Residential Security Assessments, Finds Growing Preference for Certified Safes

Axon Business Systems has conducted a series of residential security assessments across high-value homes in the UAE, identifying a growing preference among affluent homeowners for certified safes and tested storage solutions over decorative or non-certified alternatives.

The assessments indicate that residential security considerations are shifting beyond traditional perimeter controls such as gated access and surveillance systems. Increasingly, homeowners are focusing on the protection of portable and high-value assets stored inside the home, including jewellery, passports, sensitive documents, and digital storage devices.

According to observations from the assessments, discretion alone is no longer viewed as sufficient. Homeowners are placing greater importance on fire resistance, burglary certification, and compliance with recognised European standards. Questions around EN ratings, resistance grades, and fire endurance periods are becoming more common during residential security consultations.

This change reflects a broader trend toward informed decision-making among high-net-worth residents. Rather than selecting safes based on appearance or convenience, many are seeking products that have been independently tested and certified to perform under specific threat conditions. Fire protection, in particular, has emerged as a key concern, alongside theft prevention.

Axon Business Systems, which has supplied security equipment to banks and institutional clients for decades, noted that the criteria now being discussed in residential settings closely mirror those traditionally applied in commercial environments. Certified fire- and burglary-resistant safes, concealed drawer units, and electronic locking mechanisms designed for long-term reliability are increasingly being specified for private homes.

“What we are seeing is a clear change in how residential security decisions are made,” said a spokesperson at Axon Business Systems. “Homeowners are asking fewer questions about appearance and more about certification, fire resistance, and tested performance. That shift toward verification and documented standards is becoming a defining feature of high-value residential security planning.”

The findings also suggest that residential security planning is becoming more integrated into interior design and construction decisions. Rather than being treated as add-on accessories, certified storage solutions are being incorporated early to ensure both functional protection and minimal visual impact.

As luxury living in the UAE continues to evolve, the assessments indicate a steady move toward security solutions grounded in certification, testing, and documented performance. This approach reflects a more structured view of residential risk management, where protection is measured by standards rather than visibility.
